Southern water Business Funding

The second round of our Business Partnership Fund is still open, and we are looking for new and innovative ideas to help reduce water use in businesses across Sussex.

What is the Business Partnership Fund?

• Water is a precious resource. Every year the population of the South East grows, but the amount of water available stays the same.
• Due to hotter summers and less rainfall, increased pressure Is put on our water supplies. If we keep consuming at our current rate, in time, demand will outstrip supply – as there’s only so much we can take from our environment.
• That’s just one reason why we’re on the lookout for new and innovative ideas to help reduce water use in businesses.
• If local businesses have an idea for a project – whether it’s harvesting rain or shower water, fitting flow restrictors on taps, harnessing new technology to save water, education or behavioural change programmes – they really should apply for this fantastic initiative.

What kind of ideas have winning businesses had?

• Henfield Leisure Centre is benefitting from a water efficiency programme which has resulted in new toilets being installed and a flushing water tank which will lower water bills and save more than 700,0000 litres of water a year.

Other water saving initiatives

Water Saving Audits – launched 1 April 2024

• We are offering Water Saving Audits to businesses across our region to help them save water and reduce their bills. The audit (and fixes) are free to businesses.

Water Butt for Business Scheme goes live

• We are providing all Southern Water business customers with the chance to claim a free water butt kit worth £80. Although this scheme is open to all businesses we will only directly be targeting schools and community centres.
